Your default method is what will be used when you send messages to Ping.fm without a trigger. A trigger is a specific keyword that tells us what type of message you want to post to your social networks.

For example: "@s is updating his status." would post a status message to all of your social networks that are configured to accept status updates. If you select "Status Updates" as your default method, you would no longer have to add the "@s" to your messages to post your messages as status updates.
