Help With Custom URLs

Custom URL? What is this madness?

A URL (Uniform Resource Locator) is simply a web address. You use them every day to visit all of your favorite websites, like Ping.fm.

Ok, that's great and all, but how does the custom URL work?

Ping.fm will submit your messages to the URL you you set up. This custom URL will have the same options as the other social networks like status updates, blogging and micro-blogging, so you can configure what methods it supports and even use it in your custom triggers.

WOW! So I can enter ANY website and it will work?!

Keep dreaming! The custom URL must be made to receive messages from Ping.fm. This is very simple for a web developer to implement.  We've put together a comprehensive guide to help developers here: http://groups.google.com/group/pingfm-developers/web/working-with-a-custom-url

I'm still lost, could you give me some more pointers?

If you still can't get it to work, toss us a message at our Get Satisfaction! site and let us know the issues you are

encountering.
